Community Sessions

Are you a passionate member of the Twitch community and want to help shape the rich lineup of content at TwitchCon Europe at the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands on 29 & 30 June!? Well, now’s your time to shine with panel discussions, lightning Twitch Talks presentations, podcasts and game shows, or any other amazing content ideas designed to be run by the community, for the community. These sessions feature a wide range of topics on hobbies and interests, diversity, health, entertainment, and education. Not sure what to submit? Here are some examples of sessions that could be a variety of formats, such as… 

Panel Discussions & Educational Presentations:

  • The Best Games to Play with Chat
  • Streaming 101: Fostering Community
  • Balancing Content Creation & Full-Time Jobs

Game Shows, Talk Shows, & Podcasts:

  • The Great Video Game Debate
  • Wine About It (a comedy podcast live from TwitchCon)
  • Top 10 Games of All Time!

 

 

These are just a few examples to get your creative juices flowing. Your participation may range from a 15 minute lightning round, to 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and up to 60 minutes long. Some tips to keep in mind as you brainstorm:

Do’s:

  • Do submit detailed ideas.
  • Do include all consenting participants.
  • Do curate for a diverse audience.

Don’ts:

  • Don’t submit participants who haven’t confirmed interest.
  • Don’t submit the same idea more than once.
  • Don’t forget to think outside the box & have fun!

 

Friendly reminder that being a participant in Community Sessions  is not a paid opportunity and all accepted participants will need to cover travel and accommodation costs.

 

Guidelines: 

  • All content must be in compliance with Twitch’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If accepted, all participants must agree to and comply with Twitch’s Events Code of Conduct and Release and Event Entrance Requirements.
  • All participants must be over 18 years old and have a Twitch username in good standing, with no moderation infractions within the past ninety (90) days of application. If a channel in the application is suspended or banned after being accepted, their participation will be reviewed and may be revoked at Twitch's sole discretion.
  • Sessions will all be hosted LIVE and on-site in Rotterdam at TwitchCon Europe and many will also be streamed on Twitch. We encourage you to consider the experience for everyone who will be watching LIVE on Twitch when you enter your application.
  • When submitting: 
    • Your application must include the following number of total participants, including you if you’re participating.
      • Panel Discussions & Educational Presentations: one (1)  - five (5) participants
      • Game Shows, Talk Shows, Podcasts: two (2) - five (5) participants
      • Other (please explain in the submission description below): one (1) - five (5) participants
    • You must list information for all participants, including Twitch usernames in the application.
    • Diversity amongst your participants will play a large role in the TwitchCon Content Team’s selection process. 
    • The TwitchCon Content Team is unable to consider applications that do not include a comprehensive list of participants.
  • All sessions may be moderated by Hosts appointed by Twitch. These Hosts: 
    • Are Twitch streamers.
    • Are there to help lead the discussion and manage your session's Q&A. 
    • Act as a liaison between the participants and the TwitchCon Content Team to ensure all required assets (slides, videos, images, etc.) are prepared and delivered to the TwitchCon Content Team. Not providing the assets by the listed deadline or providing assets that do not comply with Twitch’s guidelines may result in a cancellation of the session. 
  • Keep in mind, your session should be designed for TwitchCon attendees. We highly encourage you to write succinctly and with the community in mind, but most of all, have fun dreaming up your idea!

 

Accepted applications will receive the following from Twitch:

  • One (1) complimentary two-day TwitchCon ticket for up to five (5) Twitch approved participants per session. 
  • An assigned Twitch streamer as your session’s Host to help lead discussions, assist in presentation curation, and manage your session’s Q&A.

 

Selection Process:

The TwitchCon Content Team will stop accepting applications on 26 February 2024 at 23:59 CET. Applicants will be notified of their status by 25 March 2024. For inquiries please contact: speakers@twitchcon.com.

Please note: Although you will be solely responsible for the content in your session, the TwitchCon Content Team reserves the right to work with you to help curate the content, as well as review and/or approve participants for the topic you submitted. Any review or revision to your content does not imply a representation or belief that Twitch believes such materials meet applicable laws, regulations, and/or standards.
